Stimmen (1996) gegen�ber der Doppelfigur Mariam/Laila in Khaled Hosseinis A Thousand Splendid Suns (2007) auf einer parallel strukturierten Ebene kaleidoskopisch betrachten lassen, wobei sich die Figuren als Doppelfiguren und „Grenzg�ngerinnen" erweisen. Fantastic Book and Guide, with introduction to several Web server concepts, setup & config all-in-one!

1. This book shows you how to build your own Linux Web server with Ubuntu Linux. It does!
2. and host your own website, Yes!
3. at home for free, Yes, except for home internet service, from Time Warner or At&t.
4. without having to pay a web hosting, company like GoDaddy or Web.com: yes, and you get to have a webserver in your home.
5. Whether you are ten years old or 80, even if you have never worked with Linux before and you are not that good with computers. Mostly!! You do need to know how to locate accurate information, if you want to understand what you're doing. And this book does cover the total picture: For example, first thing you will see on your Linux Ubunto Server is "Landscape.canonical.com." This book explains the URL you see on your server, and it is actually the people who create Ubunto. I probably would have never figured this out surfing Ubunto Linux help sites on the web. This book is excellently written and fun to follow! This book does seem to introduce you to the big peices of server administration and it's pretty detailed. I think this book is tons better than going it alone and picking out your own Youtube or web blog guides.

I bought this book primarily, because I wanted an all-in-one guide that I had not found on youtube or reading blogs. My favorite part about this book is that it starts with making your own "Installation CD" (or DVD). I never found a youtube video that describes changing settings on firewalls, permissions, how to make forms and integrate MySQL, all in one place, like this Book does!!!

I also received a lot of help through email experimenting with permissions from the Author, M. Wright! I wanted to get his comments on permissions and he emailed new commands to try and elaborated. Super cool!

There are 4 minor things and I mention because they may help, as a new server admin, to minimize a few roadhumps:
1. I'm more of a windows desktop dude than a Linux server dude. It appears this book doesn't get into Apache, or the fold structure of Linux. Like why some files are in init.d and some are in other places.

2. The second thing I found is that arpscan is not mentioned in this book. Unless it's mentioned in the paypal or MySQl parts I haven't gone through yet. However, the back of the book lists many helpful linux commands. I wanted to bang around on my installation and change some things so I knew exactly what my server is going through and this book helps you easily cross reference commands you may see online, stay on track or easily start over, hence the bootable install CDR/DVD-/+R!

3. The third minor detail is that the built in Firewall with Ubunto called "ufw" may have caused me a problem or maybe I changed a setting. This book introduces the Ubunto built-in firewall and explains how to open port 22 for SFTP. In my case, I wasn't sure if the ufw firewall should be running or not, or if it runs automatically. At one time, I might have changed some settings, and I found my firewall wasn't running automatically. At one time, I had to add a rule to allow port 80 to get my website up and running. I don't think the books tells you to add a rule for port 80 in ufw.

4. The fourth issue I came across was during the email setup. I decided to reference a website, to get it working: https://rtcamp.com/tutorials/linux/ubuntu-postfix-gmail-smtp/, in particular, toggle Google's "junk" spam filter. And I'm not sure why the website uses the certificate of /etc/postfix/cacert.pem while the book calls for /etc/ssl/certs/ca-certificates.crt.

In fantastic review, this book awesome! It lets you setup a SQL server, web server, mail server and goes over permissions and DNS. Another reason I purchased this book, is that it tells you how to make a CD (or DVR) so you can wipe (format) your server and redo everything or bring a CD to your friends house for installation. And the install takes about 35 minutes. I'm pretty happy with the book using Ubunto server because it seems Ubunto runs with a small footprint. About the Author
Francis A. Carey is a native of Pennsylvania, educated in the public schools of Philadelphia, at Drexel University (B.S. in chemistry, 1959), and at Penn State (Ph.D. 1963). Following postdoctoral work at Harvard and military service, he was appointed to the chemistry faculty of the University of Virginia in 1966. Prior to retiring in 2000, he regularly taught the two-semester lecture courses in general chemistry and organic chemistry. 
With his students, Professor Carey has published over forty research papers in synthetic and mechanistic organic chemistry. In addition to this text, he is coauthor (with Robert C. Atkins) of Organic Chemistry: A Brief Course and (with Richard J. Sundberg) of Advanced Organic Chemistry, a two-volume treatment designed for graduate students and advanced undergraduates. He was a member of the Committee of Examiners of The Graduate Record Examination in Chemistry from 1993-2000. 
Frank and his wife Jill, who is a teacher/director of a preschool and a church organist, are the parents of Andy, Bob, and Bill and the grandparents of Riyad and Ava.

About the Author
Julie Miller is from Daytona State College, where she has taught developmental and upper-level mathematics courses for 20 years. Prior to her work at Daytona State College, she worked as a software engineer for General Electric in the area of flight and radar simulation. Julie earned a bachelor of science in applied mathematics from Union College in Schenectady, New York, and a master of science in mathematics from the University of Florida. In addition to this textbook, she has authored several course supplements for college algebra, trigonometry, and precalculus, as well as several short works of fiction and nonfiction for young readers.
My father is a medical researcher, and I got hooked on math and science when I was young and would visit his laboratory. I can remember using graph paper to plot data points for his experiments and doing simple calculations. He would then tell me what the peaks and features in the graph meant in the context of his experiment. I think that applications and hands-on experience made math come alive for me and I’d like to see math come alive for my students.

Molly ONeill is from Daytona State College, where she has taught for 22 years in the School of Mathematics. She has taught a variety of courses from developmental mathematics to calculus. Before she came to Florida, Molly taught as an adjunct instructor at the University of Michigan-Dearborn, Eastern Michigan University, Wayne State University, and Oakland Community College. Molly earned a bachelor of science in mathematics and a master of arts and teaching from Western Michigan University in Kalamazoo, Michigan. Besides this textbook, she has authored several course supplements for college algebra, trigonometry, and precalculus and has reviewed texts for developmental mathematics.
I differ from many of my colleagues in that math was not always easy for me. But in seventh grade I had a teacher who taught me that if I follow the rules of mathematics, even I could solve math problems. Once I understood this, I enjoyed math to the point of choosing it for my career. I now have the greatest job because I get to do math every day and I have the opportunity to influence my students just as I was influenced. Authoring these texts has given me another avenue to reach even more students.

Nancy Hyde served as a full-time faculty member of the Mathematics Department at Broward College for 24 years. During this time she taught the full spectrum of courses from developmental math through differential equations. She received a bachelor of science degree in math education from Florida State University and a master’s degree in math education from Florida Atlantic University. She has conducted workshops and seminars for both students and teachers on the use of technology in the classroom. In addition to this textbook, she has authored a graphing calculator supplement for College Algebra.
I grew up in Brevard County, Florida, where my father worked at Cape Canaveral. I was always excited by mathematics and physics in relation to the space program. As I studied higher levels of mathematics I became more intrigued by its abstract nature and infinite possibilities. It is enjoyable and rewarding to convey this perspective to students while helping them to understand mathematics.

Good reporting.

This book is like a brightly illustrated science report by a young student scientist. It shows simple magnets, with positive and negative poles, attracting and repelling. It shows what is attracted and repelled (metals, plastics, wood, etc.) It provides great re-inforcement or whrrat you child has learned or will learn by playing with real magnets.
The book goes further, with identification of electro-magnets and where you might see them in use.
It's simple and exciting and makes you (or your child) want to play with magnets!

Tiny book but great information on magnets for young children

I admit I was a tad disappointed when this book arrived. It is so small and thin I wondered how it could possibly help my first grader understand what magnets are about. Well, I did purchase several other books on the subject but this provided the basis for understanding what magnets are about, at a level a young child can easily comprehend.

The book covers basic information on magnets, and how magnets attract and repel, as well as the objects magnets repel and attract. I also purchased a simple magnet kit to go along with this and some iron filings. My husband and I found this to be an excellent primer on magnets for our daughter before embarking on her first science project, and yes, it is on magnets.
